2008 Symphony Designer Showhouse to feature “Windows on the World” theme
For Immediate Release, February 2008 http://www.csolinc.org
The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League’s 2008 Designer Showhouse, presented in partnership with Charleston Magazine and Southern Accents magazine, will feature an exciting “Windows on the World” theme and will showcase interior design with an international flair. The Showhouse will be open to the public March 13th through April 13th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and on Sundays (excluding Easter) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s 5,000 square foot house located at 108 Murray Boulevard, is just across from the Coast Guard Station on the Charleston peninsula. Its many windows frame panoramic views of the Ashley River. Its traditional exterior gives no hint of an open floor plan that is quite unusual for a house of this type.
Following a “Windows on the World” theme, area designers will create an interior suiting the lifestyle of a family that enjoys traveling and collecting fine arts. In addition, the Showhouse will feature a Boutique, Designer Sales Items, and a Café featuring al fresco dining from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
For many years, the Symphony Designer Showhouse has enjoyed a unique relationship with Charleston Magazine, which has annually featured the house and designers in its spring issue. Also, this year, Southern Accents magazine is partnering with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League by featuring select rooms in its September/October issue.
Now in its 31st year, the League’s Designer Showhouse is a major fundraising event for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are $20 at the door, or $15 in advance and may be purchased online at www.csolinc.org.
