Ted's Butcherblock at 334 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston is featuring a unique menu this February inspired by the culinary traditions of Brazil and the wines of South America. Ted’s continues to host regular Friday night wine tastings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the month of February, but has a new and exciting format to unveil. Each week, Ted’s will be preparing an artisan cheese plate and three different gourmet hors d’oeuvres from Ted’s catering menu paired with several featured wines. The foods will be available for sale prepackaged. Additionally, all wines at the tasting will be available for purchase by the glass, something that was not previously offered. A $5 donation will go toward the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, the featured charity for this quarter. All regular Friday wine tastings run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ted's Butcherblock.

In addition to the weekly wine tastings, Ted’s will be hosting a wine dinner on Thursday, February 7 featuring cheeses from around the world and tastings of four wines, as well as a dessert wine. The wine will be served both as raw samplings and incorporated in the meals. There is a limit of 30 people. The cost is $45 per person, which includes the food and wine. Reservations are required.

Ted’s will also feature a special Valentine’s Day hot dinner pick-up on Thursday, February 14, perfect for celebrating that special day without the trouble of cooking. The dinner will include a choice of soup, salad or appetizer, as well as an entrée and desert with paired with an optional wine.

On Thursday, February 21, Ted’s Butcherblock will host its popular monthly craft beer dinner. The cost is $25 per person, which includes all food and beer. The event will be held at Ted’s Butcherblock from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Reservations are required.
