Catch the Reading Bug: Children’s Summer Reading Program (ages 11 and younger)

All Charleston County Library Branches
Children are awarded prizes for reading or being read to at levels of 5, 15 and 30 hours. Prizes include the SC reading medal, passes to community events, T-shirts and branch grand prizes.

iRead ’08: Teen Summer Reading Program (students entering grades 6 – 12)

This summer it’s all about YOU – read whatever you want and win cool prizes like free food from McDonald’s, gift cards to Northwoods Mall, iTunes, bookstores and more. As Alex begins to explore her sexuality, her mother invites friends from Buenos Aires to come for a visit at their house on the gorgeous Uruguayan shore, along with their 16-year-old son Álvaro. Alex is immediately attracted to the young man, which adds yet another level of complexity to her personal search for identity, and forces both families to face their worst fears. This Argentinean film is in Spanish with English subtitles.
