FAMILY CIRCLE TENNIS CENTER DEBUTS
REDESIGNED JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMS
Tennis Block Party presented by The Daniel Island News to Kick Off New Programs
Growing the game of tennis has always been a top priority at the Family Circle Tennis Center, Charleston's premier public tennis facility. Beginning the week of August 20th, the Tennis Center will debut its uniquely redesigned grassroots Junior Tennis Program open to children ages 3 - 18 in all skill levels. Four consecutive ten-week sessions will teach children the game of tennis in a fun atmosphere where coaches help the students achieve their goals in a positive structured environment.
The Family Circle Tennis Center will host a Tennis Block Party presented by The Daniel Island News from 9:00am to noon on Saturday, August 18th to showcase the many tennis programs available for the whole family at this public facility, and to kick off the fall Junior Tennis Program session. This free party will include on-court activities with our professional teaching staff for both adults and children such as an on-court Kid's Tennis Carnival, USTA 36' & 60' program activities, Adult Tennis area, Drills & Skills activities, games, contests, as well as food and refreshments for everyone in attendance. All participants will receive a tour of the facility and be eligible for prizes and giveaways.
"Our redesigned junior programming structure illustrates the Family Circle Tennis Center's commitment to growing the game of tennis throughout the Lowcountry at the grass roots level," commented Rob Eppelsheimer, Family Circle Tennis Center Director. "As a public facility, our goal is to serve as many children as possible, from the beginner to the advanced player, and we're very proud to now offer tennis programs specifically for children with special needs. This broad approach allows us to help the largest population of juniors learn this sport of a lifetime."
The new Junior Tennis Programs are separated into four divisions to provide specific tennis instruction to children grouped by age and ability. As they progress through the program from the earliest years to teenage maturity, participants ascend a ladder of ability level beginning with technique, mobility, and accuracy. After constructing a solid foundation, students move to the next stage and address consistency, power, and self-realization preparing them for junior tournaments, high school teams, and collegiate tennis opportunities.
