Carnival Cruise Lines announced its annual Port of the Year award for Customer Service Excellence to Charleston based Cruise Services USA, its shore services company in Mobile.
During the year, Carnival tabulates results from comment cards filled out by guests aboard its ships throughout all U.S. ports. Competition is fierce among the shore services companies with standings posted quarterly. The shore services company with the highest embarkation customer service ratings is presented the Port of the Year award at Carnivals annual Embarkation Conference in Miami each December.
This year, Cruise Services USA won first place for Customer Service and second place for Quality Assurance in Mobile. “This is an extremely difficult accomplishment”, says Mark Thorn, CSUSA’s Regional Manager for Mobile. “We are very excited for our staff! They worked extremely hard all year for theses highly coveted awards and deserve the recognition it will afford. It was our first full year in Mobile, and all the hard work and dedication from the entire embarkation staff paid off!”
CSUSA’s Jacksonville, FL operation won first place for Quality Assurance and third place for Customer Service at the same presentation in Miami.
Cruise Services USA is a Charleston based company employing over 500 staff who provide shore services in 7 U.S. ports handling over 1 million guests annually.
