Marisa & Robert Carter are a husband and wife team in Charleston, South Carolina capturing weddings mainly in the Holy City but also around the world.
In 2015 Marisa was a stay-at-home mom with her daughter and only child at the time and she needed a creative outlet, that’s when she started to take photos of her little girl. She realized then and there that she loved capturing people and began shooting family shoots and senior sessions. During that time, she was pregnant with her twin boys and the business was taking off. People wanted her for weddings! So, she invested in a high end camera and the rest was history! She has been capturing people’s love and families for almost 7 years now and loves every minute of it!
Before Robert met Marisa he was a company owner of a very successful business but being the creative type he knew it wasn’t the path for him. So, when he met Marisa he sold off his company, he decided to capture weddings alongside her in 2020. This is not Robert’s first time behind the camera. Robert is a former model for Abercrombie & Fitch and learned some photography under one of the most successful fashion photographers of our time Bruce Weber. He was also given the opportunity to shoot with National Geographic while traveling in Africa!
Marisa & Robert are originally from Michigan, but moved to South Carolina to make a name for themselves. They knew Charleston would be the perfect place to expand the company with its Spanish moss, beachfront views, ocean breezes, and vintage charm. Right now this awesome duo not only shoots weddings in Charleston but has a team of associates shooting across the USA, providing not only other photographers plenty of opportunities to grow but brides and grooms a community of amazingly talented people.
The husband and wife dream team have so many ideas for MSMP and can’t wait to see them come to life. MSMP (Marisa Sue Marie Purcey) isn’t just a company, it’s a name and a face, Marisa’s name and her and her husband’s face, so it means a lot to them.
