Assault on Battery Wagner 161st Anniversary Tour of Morris Island

Join us on Thursday, July 18, 2024 as we commemorate the 161st anniversary of the Assault on Batter Wagner. The Assault on Battery Wagner on July 18, 1863, was an unsuccessful assault led by the 54th Massachusetts, an African American infantry, famously depicted in the movie Glory. Battery Wagner is located on Morris Island in the Charleston Harbor, South Carolina.
Boarding begins at 1:30 pm and we will leave for Morris Island at 2:00 pm from the Charleston Maritime Center, 10 Wharfside Street, Charleston on the boat Palmetto operated by Sandlapper Tours. The boat will return at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $50.
